Young Elvis, just beginning his hairdo.

Wilbur

RIP ELVIS. We miss you, big man. I hope you have lots of girls to flirt with on the Rainbow Bridge!

Wilbur, AKA “Elvis” is a very gregarious buckling who is eager to learn his role for the first time this October! He is all buck and no bite! Elvis (Wilbur) gave us 4 babies from each doe this year! 2 bucklings and 2 doelings! His daughters, Priscilla and Fern, had their own kids this year and Priscilla is a phenomenal mom! She had 2 beautiful bucklings with Choco. Nice udder.

Wilbur not really cooperating for a photo shoot.

UPDATE: Priscilla is now a permanent doe here at Greene Acres. She has become a very good natural mother and very well behaved on the mild stand!

She has matured nicely, and I am so happy she came back to me!

SuzyQ

SuzyQ seems to be doeling herd leader at this time. She has become a calm and loving doeling, ready for a pet and loves attention. I have to say she became my favorite when she started maturing. We are looking for a kid from her 2/28/2021!

Update! SuzyQ had two beautiful and friendly doelings which will be retained this year. Priscilla and Fern. She had them right on que on 2/28/2021!

Suzy’s kids are being slowly weaned and she is now separated at night and milked in the morning. She gives us about 1/2 quart right now and keeps giving more every day!

SuzyQ had FOUR kids in 2022, two tricolor and two bicolor. She is an excellent mom and gives us lovely milk!

Fern and Priscilla

Fern and Priscilla were bred to Choco this year!

Fern (brown) and Priscilla (white pattern) were bred to Choco in 2021. Fern was sold as a pregnant doe to a wonderful young couple who report she had one horned buckling, one polled buckling and one polled chocolate doeling! Fern is doing well in her new home.

Priscilla had her two bucklings here, one polled and the other blue eyed. She has wonderful conformation; her udder is nice, and she is learning to “work the stand!” She is really turning into a nice doe.

Maebelle during her pregnancy.

Maebelle

Maebelle, AKA “Brat” is demanding of attention and will cross “horns” with those doelings who defy her needs. She is a bottle baby, and sometimes it really shows. She is very manageable and we are looking for a kid from her 2/28/2021!

Update! Maebelle had three kids, two bucklings and a little tri-colored doeling. The two bucklings will be wethered and sent to a young man as a pet and to practice his 4H skills. The little doeling was traded for a new polled chocolate buckling! Look for “Choco” in the next few weeks!

Maebelle’s kids are being slowly weaned and she is now separated at night and milked in the morning. She gives us about 1/2 quart right now and keeps giving more every day! Maebelle puts out a lot of milk for her small size!

Maebelle has 3 kids by her side in 2022! All blue-eyed babies! Her doeling is especially independent, and her 2 bucklings are “all boy!” Maebelle gives us quite a bit of tasty milk even though she is small!

Introducing David Copperfield! On his way from Montana! 5/22/2022 - Update - Copper is HERE!

This handsome boy will begin his breeding career next year in 2023.

UPDATE: 2022 I had livestock losses, including one of my foundation does, Missy. Along with other major reasons, this year I could not prepare safely for kids. I am very excited to finally see his progeny, but 2022 is a “HOLD” year.

RIP COPPER. I did not even get to see your kids! Such a loss to our herd. I hope you have many girlfriends on the Rainbow Bridge. See you there, big boy.

Her name comes from what I see as a “missing piece” of the puzzle on her side markings.

Missy

SAD UPDATE: Missy was killed by coyotes 12/19/22. She is a huge loss; my little friend is gone. I still and will continue to imagine her with my other does, waiting to get into something. She had such a personality. I will see you at the rainbow bridge and bring you some peppermints. I love you, Missy. I am so happy that you came to be with me for the time that you stayed. Don’t worry, your little doeling and buckling are OK, and not only is fencing more secure, but we will also be introducing our LGD to become one of the Greene menagerie because of you.

Missy is the cutie pie and the most looked forward of the doelings. We can’t wait to start her journey into motherhood, as she has the most promise for our goals, but she may be too small to breed this year for next years’ kid! Stay tuned!

Missy is playing “Auntie” to all the kids right now, teaching them the herd ropes.

2022 brings Missy 4 kids! 2 absolutely gorgeous bucklings, one of whom may be retained. She is a very good mom and is keeping everyone fed with her stunning first freshener udder! She is learning to “work the stand” along with her herd mate, Priscilla. They are doing a very good job, so far!

Bandit

Bandit is a wether and Wilbur’s pen mate. Goats are herd animals, so they need to have friends!

Update: Bandit, pictured here with Elvis, went to live in the mountains with his own herd of girls!

Bandit in 2021 in his new “DIGS”

Choco Dio Rio in all his glory as a true “BUCK.”

Choco Dio Rio

Choco is our new hear sire, second only to Elvis, and repeats the most desired milking pedigree. Because he is polled and blue-eyed, we are looking forward to his offspring in 2022!

Choco Dio Rio is a very nice buck who produced five kids this year between Fern and Priscilla. He has great potential, but not exactly what GADG is looking for at this time, so he is up for sale!! Grab this herd sire, he has mesmerizing blue eyes and is polled. That chocolate color sets those eyes off! This is a difficult decision, but in a small operation, space is limited.

Our Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats

Many people believe that a female is more important than a male in raising livestock. While this may be true to some extent, don’t you think that the male of the team is just as important? After all, he is the SIRE of your babies, his DNA is running half the kid’s development! Our buck, “Elvis,” comes from Blue Cactus Dairy Goats in Arizona. The family who bred him took time in matching his sire and dam together for the best possible outcome, and we could not be happier! We also have a doeling from BCDG, Missy, whose first breeding will be in September 2021. Her lineage is also remarkable, and we expect very good conformation and milking lines from her.

SuzyQ, first freshener, upcoming mother to be!

Along with those two, we acquired two does from S&F Farms in Lemoore, Ca. Their goats have also followed very good dairy lines and we are VERY happy with our first kids from Maebelle and SuzyQ! Not only did they birth their kids without any issues, but they also became very attentive mothers and although Maebelle had 3, she raised them all! We could not be happier with the character of these does.

We look for compact, friendly, smaller goats that can deliver the milk as well as have a general good standing in the show ring.

We are a new farm, but we have big ideas!
